Desertification in China - In April of 2009, Sean Gallagher was awarded his first grant from the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting to travel over 4000km across China, to document the environmental crisis of desertfication in the northern and western reaches of the country. This work as been acknowledged at the Lumix Festival for Young Photojournalism (2010), by the International Photography Awards (2009) and the Earth Journalism Awards (2009).
